Karol Duchoň

Memorial statue of Duchoň in [[Galanta]] Karol Duchoň (21 April 1950 – 5 November 1985) was a Slovak singer. He is often dubbed as being one of the most popular singers in Slovakia.

His career as a singer of popular songs began to unfold in 1968. In 1973, he received the silver Bratislava Lyre and in 1974 the gold Bratislava Lyre. He gave concerts and performed on the domestic and foreign music scene. In 2006, the music scene honored and admired him by awarding him the Aurel 2006 award for his lifelong contribution to the musical culture of Slovakia.
