Josef Váňa

Josef Váňa Josef Váňa (born 20 October 1952) is a Czech steeplechase jockey, horse breeder and trainer. As the eight-time winner of the Velká pardubická steeplechase, he is considered one of the greatest personalities of the horse racing sport.

In 2016 he unsuccessfully ran for a seat in Czech Senate as candidate of ANO 2011. In 2024, he assumed the seat of Jana Mračková Vildumetzová in the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic after she was elected as mayor of Karlovy Vary. Váňa successfully defended his seat in the 2025 Czech parliamentary election. Provided by Wikipedia
